SERIES 7700 SIZED DOOR CLOSERS

The series 7500(BF) door closer has all of the features of the series 7700 door closer, with the following exceptions:
Multi-size closer with a choice of power adjustment ranges: 7500 adjustable for power sizes 2 through 6. These power sizes qualified in American National Standards Institute (A.N.S.I.) standard A156.4. 7500BF adjustable for power sizes 1 through 4. These power sizes enable conformance with the requirements for maximum door opening force as outlined in The Americans with Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) and ANSI standard A117.1, "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities".
TRI-STYLE: Standard Closer can be installed regular arm, parallel arm or top jamb.
CORROSION RESISTANT SERIES: All components are of aluminum, zinc diecast (valves), stainless steel or bronze material. Only available for regular arm, parallel arm or top jamb applications with standard non hold open arm.

OPTIONAL ARMS- Parallel Rigid

Available with a one piece rigid secondary arm. Prefix "PR" to catalog number (PR_ _ _ _) may be order with Hold Open feature (suffix "H") or Hold Open Fusible-Link feature (suffix "HFL"). "H" and "HFL" arms are handed. Door openings to 180° are possible, conditions permitting.

OPTIONAL ARMS- CloserPlus

These are parallel rigid arms that also incorporate a stop feature, prefix "CLP" to catalog number (CLP_ _ _ _). To include a hold open function use a suffix "T" for thumbturn control or a "K" for hex-key control of the selectable on/off hold open control, (CLP_ _ _ _T / CLP_ _ _ _K). For openings of 85° to 110° in 5° increments.

OPTIONAL ARMS- Unitrol

The unitrol product incorporates a compression spring shock absorber with a positive stop. Coupled with the door closer's opening force resistance and backcheck feature, they reduce the shock of bringing the door to a dead stop, to a minimum.

To include a hold open function use a suffix "H" (UNI_ _ _ _H). For openings of 85° to 110° in 5° increments. Compression spring requires 5° of travel beyond degree of door opening.

These arms can be ordered for either parallel arm (prefix "UNI") or top jamb (prefix "UNI-J") application. Parallel arm units must be ordered stating the door width. Top jamb units must be ordered stating the door's frame-reveal depth.

NEW SERIES 7770/7570 - Security Door Closers

The Norton Series 7770/7570 Security Closers are used in correctional facilities, government facilities, schools, financial institutions, public buildings or any location where you need to minimize the vandalism, tampering, escape or abuse and damage of a door or its hardware. The Norton Series 7770/7570 Security Closers offer the ultimate in resistance or abuse. All exposed fasteners are tamper-resistant security TORX screws.

Fixed-link arm assemblies are incorporated on both regular arm and parallel arm mounts. The 7770/7570 features permanent joints. Orbital riveted elbow and shoe/soffit plate joints prevent disassembly. A 4-point security TORX fastening system minimizes changes of successfully tampering with the 7770/7570’s contemporary cover and closer body.

FEATURES

CLOSER: Utilizes Norton’s heaviest duty 7700 or 7500 Series non-handed closer.
MAIN ARM: 3/8" thick heavy steel stamping with a rectangular cross section. Material is 1-1/8" wide with each end flared to 1-3/8". 11" center to center length.
SECONDARY ARM: 5/16" thick heavy steel stamping with a rectangular cross section. Material is 1" wide with each end flared to 1-3/8".
JOINTS: Permanent, orbital riveted elbow and arm shoe soffit plate joints to prevent disassembly. All joints pivot on large 5/8" diameter stud shafts. The round, low profile orbital rivet head deters removal with ordinary hand tools. Oilite bronze bushings are pressed into the bearing surface areas at the arm shoe or soffit plate joint and at the elbow joint to reduce friction load and prevent wear.
FASTENERS: All exposed fasteners are lobular drive torx screws with center security pin.
COVER: Extruded heavy duty metal cover fastens with 4 secure mounting screws. This is the only handed component in this product package.

SERIES 7900 - Overhead Concealed Door Closers

FULLY CONCEALED: both closer and track concealed when door is closed.
DETERRENT TO VANDALISM: since only the one piece arm is visible when the door is open, the unit provides a high degree of tamper resistance.
REQUIRES A MINIMUM 4" HIGH FRAME HEADER AND A 2" MINIMUM TOP RAIL DEPTH: slide track and arm provide a shock absorbing action to bring door to a controlled stop.
50% POWER ADJUSTMENT: over each closer size.
FOUR INDIVIDUAL VALVE CONTROLS: adjustable sweep and latch speeds; adjustable backcheck cushioning and positioning.
DOOR/FRAME MATERIAL: installs in hollow metal, aluminum or wood doors and frames.
INSTALLATIONS: installs with butt hinges, offset or center pivots.
NON HOLD-OPEN/SELECTIVE HOLD-OPEN: specify either.
SPECIAL FEATURE CLOSERS
ADJUSTABLE DELAYED ACTION CLOSING: optional hydraulic feature, available in addition to backcheck cushioning and backcheck positioning, that adds a third speed range to the closing control cycle. This feature becomes effective when the door is opened and released at any point beyond 70°. This delayed closing enables traffic to clear the opening before the normal closing cycle stars. This feature is advantageous to the handicapped and elderly. It is also valuable for wheeled or other traffic where delayed closing is desirable.

ACCESSIBILITY CODE CLOSER: low opening resistance is available as Series 7900BF. This closer has multi-size spring power adjustment and can be adjusted to conform to the requirements of ANSI A117.1 Specifications.

Norton Series 7200 Electromechanical Closer-Holders combine the functions of an electromechanical door holder with one of our finest door controls, the Series 7700 door closer.

INFINITE HOLD-OPEN (I SUFFIX): the door will hold-open at any degree of opening up to 175° with a maximum allowable door opening of 180°.
SELECTIVE HOLD-OPEN (S SUFFIX): The door will hold open at any degree of opening, beyond a pre-set hold-open pint, up to 175°, with a maximum allowable door opening of 180°. Factory set at 80°, but is adjustable to virtually any degree of door opening desired.
CONNECTED FREE SWING RELEASING DEVICE: For health care applications to allow doors with 7200 Fore/Smoke controls to be opened and closed without closer spring force. Pull side only.
NORTON EXECUTIVE ™ DOOR HOLDER/RELEASE: RF(I)(S) CATALOG SUFFIX. A modified Electromechanical Closer-Holder for executive offices or any door where remote RF wireless door-closing control is desired. Not intended for use on labeled doors.

MASTER UNIT SERIES 7200MPD (I OR S): This unit contains an integral smoke detector and a door closer with internal holder. The Master Unit can be used to control a single door or a pair of doors when used in conjunction with either a Slave Unit or a Tandem Unit.
SLAVE UNIT SERIES 7200MPS (I OR S): The Slave Unit contains a door closer with internal holder only. The Slave Unit hold-open function is controlled by the detector in the Master Unit. 24VDC only.
TANDEM UNIT SERIES 7200MPT (I OR S): The Tandem Unit contains a door closer with internal holder only. A Master Unit signals to a control panel. the panel controls both the Master and Tandem.
SUPPORT UNIT SERIES 7200MP (I OR S): The Support Unit contains a door closer with internal holder only. These units install on either single doors or on both leafs of a pair of doors. Its hold-open function is controlled by compatible UL listed smoke detection equipment such as area/ceiling smoke detectors.

SERIES R6930 - Electro-Magnetic Door Holders

CHOICE OF MOUNTING: door holder magnet can be either floor mounted or wall mounted to accommodate job conditions.
NARROW STYLING: door mounted armatures are only 1-13/16" (46mm) wide; can be installed on narrow stile aluminum doors.
CHOICE OF VOLTAGE: units are available for either 120vac, 60 Hz or 24VDC/VAC, 60Hz.
FAIL SAFE: in the event of power interruption the magnetic coil will de-energize and release the door.
POSITIVE RELEASE: spring loaded release button in armature face assures separation of armature and magnet when de-energized.
OPTIMUM-FORCE MAGNETIC HOLDING: magnet is radial di-pole type and provides a holding force in excess of 25lbs.(11.3kg).
