The coil and the housing assembly mounts rigidly to the door frame while the armature mounts to the door in a manner that allows it to pivot slightly to compensate for door irregularities.   When the door is closed and the lock is energized the armature is magnetically bonded to the lock face, thus securing the door without utilizing any moving parts. *Certified by Bridgeport Testing Laboratory.

	*1500 Lb. Holding Force FREE-EGRESS ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCK - SERIES 3006 TWO WIRE CONTROL

The 3006 Free-Egress Maglock is designed to be installed on the push side of an outswing door.  When operated in its normal mode, the lock is energized at all times.  When an individual attempting to egress approaches the door, the field adjustable built in Passive Infrared (PIR) egress sensor detects their presence and releases the magnetic lock.   The 3006 Lock may be field handed to match the door, or can be ordered to match the hand of door. The 3006 is designed to work by connecting only two wires for power to the unit.  For access, break power to the lock (ie. a keyswitch or keypad).  The PIR sensor will continue to function for up to one hour, with no power applied.
